
How do I use this service?
You can either give us a call or request a call back via the Booking form on our website, we can then arrange for the collection of your ironing on one of our collection and drop-off days.
How is my ironing cared for?
From the moment we collect your ironing to the time it’s ready for return, your ironing is kept safe, in a clean, smoke-free environment, and is clearly labeled so we can identify who it belongs to. We have insurance in the event of loss or damage to clients’ garments. Terms & Conditions apply.
How should I pack the ironing?
You can bring your ironing in any container you desire but it is better that you can hand it over in a bag or container you can leave with us to save unloading.
What is the turnaround?
Our standard ironing service is collected, ironed, and returned within 48 hours. We do offer a next-day and same-day service if we have the capacity and we charge an extra £2.00 for next-day delivery and £5.00 for same-day. We do need to either have the ironing dropped off for us or to collect it before 10am to offer this service. But do call us as we always try to work around your needs.
When is collection and delivery?
Collections and deliveries are usually made every morning between 8 am and 10am, and every evening between 6pm and 8pm, although we are accommodating and can usually collect during other times of the day.
What is the minimum charge for Collection & Delivery?
Collection and delivery is free for all orders over £25.00 in the Weymouth postcode area. For orders under £25.00 there is a £1.00 collection charge and a £1.00 delivery charge. Delivery and collection to Dorchester and surrounding areas is £3.00 each way.
Do I need to be in when ironing is collected?
No. We can collect from a porch, garage, shed, neighbour, outhouse, etc. Just let us know prior to the collection where your ironing will be. We will invoice by email or text within 2 hours of collection detailing. Upon return, we like to hand over the ironing to you personally to better protect the quality.
How can I pay?
We accept cash, card or bank transfer and payment is made either prior to or whenthe items are returned.
Do I need to book a collection regularly?
No. You can use our service as and when you like. We can setup weekly, fortnightly, or monthly receipt times or collections if you prefer. If you decide you don’t need to drop off or arrange a collection, just let us know before the time.
What discounts are available?
We offer a 20% first time discount, a 10% loyalty discount, and a £5 refer a friend discount. See the offers page for deatails.
I’m not happy with the standard of ironing I received, what do I do?
We treat our service very seriously, with quality checks made for every load of ironing returned. In the event that you are not entirely satisfied with your ironing, contact us within 24 hours of return and we will look to redress any issues you have.
Cancelling or Updating a Booking
You can cancel a booking anytime, all we ask is that you let us know at least 4 hours before the collection time. You can cancel a booking by calling us on 07979 597982. You can also amend a booking by calling us (in the event that you need to change the pickup time or return date). You cannot cancel a booking once the ironing has been collected.
I am moving home, can I keep using The Ironing Lady?
This depends on where you are moving to and if we have coverage in that area. Simply call and we will tell you.
